As we move forward into the spring semester of MOPS, I wanted send a bit of encouragement your way. Each of you serves a unique purpose in your MOPS leadership role and MOPS International appreciates your efforts so very much. Without each of you, there wouldn't be MOPS. Thanks for touching the lives of mothers in your sphere of influence.

Twas The 1st Night of The New Year

Twas the first night of the new year and all through the house,
Stacks of Christmas returns mounted high including a much too small blouse.
All the stockings were packed in their boxes with care
With hopes that the spring cleaning fairy soon would be there.

The children ran wild, bouncing high off their beds
All of the sugarplums had rushed right to their heads.
Me in my jammies and Dad in his sweats
Sat stressed at the table, calculating our debts.

When from the back bedroom their arose such a clatter
We sprang from the table to see what was the matter.
Away to the bedroom we flew in a hurry,
Tore open the door and stood there with worry.

The room was all scattered with toys new and old,
Left no room to explain what our eyes did behold.
When what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But our children laughing and playing without a single tear.

With all of the sharing and caring we got such a kick,
I knew in a moment, they must be sick!
Crazy it was, the friends they became,
I had no need to shout or call their middle names.

Their eyes, how they twinkled, their dimples, how sweet
Their cheeks red from laughing, the sounds couldn’t be beat.
My mouth hanging open turned from frown to smile,
Every frustrating moment was suddenly all worth the while.

We sprang back to the table, and just sat their smiling
We thought back to all the trouble, the heartache, the whining,
Neither one of us spoke too afraid to disrupt,
The joy we had found that no mess or debt could interrupt.

As we listened to the laughter, my hand he caressed,
Dad said, “Happy new year, my love, my how we are blessed.”

Happy Fall Ya'll

Although West Texas temperatures tend to fluctuate between Summer and Winter, I am getting glimpses of Fall and loving every minute!

Thanks to those that attended the training last month. It was great to meet you face to face! I pray that you were encouraged in your leadership and that the ideas shared were helpful for your group. Remember God has chosen each of you "for such a time as this."

Mark your calendars and watch your email for an conference call coming in January. Since we live so far apart, we can easily communicate and encourage each other via conference calls. All Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators are invited to participate. If you have specific questions you would like addressed, feel free to email them to me in advance and I will put them on the agenda.

I continue to pray for each group in our area, and especially as we near the Holiday season that you are finding ways to present the Gospel clearly to the moms in your group. Christmas is such a natural time to do this. You may choose to do a drama, devotional, service project, or many other things that can point moms to the Savior. Just reflecting on Mary's experience of giving birth to the Christ is enough to draw any woman nearer to the heart of God. I look forward to hearing how God is moving in your groups!

Blessings,
Amy
